Tourist cities are often scarce compared to Bukhara or Samarkand. Tillya Sheikh Mosque is one of the tourist destinations of the Islamic Imam Jama Masjid or Telia Sheikh Mosque, founded by the Islamic philosopher, Muhaddis, the poet Abu Bakr Mohammad Kaffal Ash-Shashi. Along with this complex are the madrasas, the library, the Moyie Mubarek Library Museum and the Islamic Research Institute.

A seventh-century manuscript is preserved in a glass box in this madrasa library under the Khas-Imam Complex in Tashkent. This is the manuscript of one of the oldest Quran in the world … which is the personal of the Prophet’s son-in-law and the third Caliph of Islam, Uthman ibn Affan, and he was reciting it during his martyrdom. In this case, it was rubbed in his blood by the rebels.

In addition to this manuscript, there are more than three thousand ancient manuscripts in this library. Besides, there are more than 20,000 books on various topics including Quranic commentary, Fiqh, Hadith, history, astronomy, medical science.

The complex, named after Abu Bakr ash-Shashi, the imam of the tenth-century scholar and Tashkent, became the center of his mausoleum.

Two madrassas, three mosques, Al-Bukhari Islamic University and the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan are contained within the complex.

The complex was renovated in its original design on the 21st. However, this ancient structure is more than 6 years old.
